New Works: Natalia Ferber's Altered Life

PRESS RELEASE

Natalia Ferber’s work is unique in its sense of place and storytelling. To make her compositions she stitches/blends/merges several photos which are taken during short trips between destinations. Current featured works of altered photography were compositions created from photos taken in Tel Aviv, London, Calgary to Banff, and Montevideo to Colonia. Ferber uses programs like Adolbe Photoshop and Illustrator to alter her photos and then has them produced in small editions using archival pigment printing on cotton duct canvas or cotton rag paper; the paper is more specifically Sommersette which is a European readily available in the UK but not the US.  Ferber’s cloud series is editioned in small proofs of 25. The objective focus of the series is to merge the images which reflect experiences during her travels into trans-formative scenes which mirror the relaxation reflected through the experience itself; eliminating any sense of place and in turn offering a conceptual metaphor, you can find a sense of escape/relaxation anywhere by creating it yourself.
