A Season Of Giving

PRESS RELEASE

December 2nd - 30th 2011 Paseo Originals Art Gallery will be featuring a solo show by artist Marsha Mahan and a Seasonal Gift Gallery. Mahan's exhibit will brandish a chromatic display of acrylic paintings focusing on natural elements and a selection of artist trading cards from her ACEO project. The Seasonal Gift Gallery will feature small to medium scale 2D and 3D artworks by represented gallery artists. Paseo Originals Art Gallery will host an opening reception, with live music, during the Paseo Arts District First Friday Art Walk from 6pm - 10pm on December 2nd, 2011. Wine, refreshments and hor d'oeuvers will compliment the evening's artists reception. The exhibit and reception are free and open to the public. The gallery is open Tuesday–Friday from 11am- 6pm, Saturday from 11am-5pm and Sunday from 1pm-5pm. Additionally, the gallery will be extending their open hours Friday and Saturday until 8pm starting Black Friday through the Christmas holiday.

Mahan says of her work, "I feel a certain amount of anonymity behind the canvas that allows me to visually express things I may not have the courage to express verbally. The focus of my work is less about subject, and more about the color and depth in the compositions. My paintings come easily when I am in a heightened state of emotion. When I can't paint fast enough to accommodate these sensations I insulate myself like my often solitary subjects. This detachment affords me the ability to turn inward and illuminate the essential nature of my work as an expression of my solidarity in what I observe as a tumultuous society."

Gallery Artists featured in the Seasonal Gift Gallery include, Bert Seabourn, Paul Pfrehm, Cecelia Hussein, LeRoy Schultz, Irma Braun-Hampton, Roy Orr, Marcee Claflin, Steve Cast, Kira Lasley, Ron Fleming, Linda Stilley, Behnaz Sohrabian, Stacey D. Miller, Bob Adams, Kenneth Hoving, Barbara Scott, Kenneth Hoving, Karen Orr, Brianna Martray, Katherins Liontas Warren, and Wayne Miller.
