The exhibit will be called "A Cut Above Common". It will run from January 4th through the 26th of the month. Both Oklahoma artists have been working in their respective media for over 40 years each; masters of their focal media. This will be the first time either artists has been featured at the gallery. Anita's stem from her exploration into family African heritage and the soul. Most of Anita's fiber works start with watercolor or drawing rendering the final works. She uses a diverse selection of high quality fabrics; painting or dyeing them to prepare them for the compositions requirements. Her works are narrative through representational expressionism which is hard edged in its delivery. Paul's works are an homage to the tradition of porcelain in daily living. His pieces are incredibly well produced. He works from his own mix of porcelain and creates all of his own glazes. Light with thin walls his forms demonstrate the simplicity of shapes found in the Ming and Song dynasties. The linear structures incised in his vessels are organic with soft patterns.
